Dear Members,

Hello!   I hope this finds you well, keeping cool and enjoying summer despite the smoke.

As I think back over our 2025-2026 season, I recall just how many wonderful guest speakers and entertainers we enjoyed; Dr. Martha Hart, Willl Ferguson, and Jon and Cole Briggs to name just a few. I hope you enjoyed them all, as I did.  

After some challenges with our online payment processing in the previous season, we added the option of e-transfer to pay for luncheon tickets and memberships. It has been very successful for members and for us.

Your Board Members work throughout the season to ensure our processes run smoothly and the luncheons, guest speakers and entertainment happen according to plan. The planning, organizing and coordination for the following season are underway at the same time. It takes a special team to make all this happen, and this is a GREAT team! I am so proud of what they continue to accomplish!

We have been actively recruiting new Board Members this past season and have been successful in filling several positions. While we have not yet found a new Publicity Chair and Assistant, our Directors At Large - Joan Hillson and Sue Styles- will be managing the website and social media in the interim.   

Our contract is signed with the Fairmont Palliser for the new season, the luncheon schedule has been coordinated, the menus, speakers, entertainment, arranged by our Board Members. They have been putting the final touches on this over the summer, as well as designing the tickets and brochures and arranging printing and distribution. We are ready to go!    

The enclosed brochures detail our impressive selection of speakers and entertainment, selected so that you will find them both informative and enjoyable.

 I’m happy to share that our prices remain the same this season:      

• Our annual membership fee is $65.00

• Luncheon tickets are $62.00

At the bar:

• Wine/Sherry remain $12.00

• Juice/ Soft Drinks remain $10.00

September luncheon tickets must be purchased online, by mail or by e-transfer so please remember to order them by August 31st 2026.  If you are purchasing by mail, cheques are to be mailed to:

Tickets purchased online, by mail or by e-transfer will be available for pickup in the Oval Room just prior to the luncheon.

When using the e-transfer option to order your luncheon tickets, please indicate the name or names of the members or guests included in your purchase and your contact number on the e-transfer.

If you enclose a stamped self-addressed envelope, your membership card will be mailed to you. Otherwise, it can be picked up at the Membership Desk in the foyer prior to the September luncheon.

Experience tells us that word of mouth is our most effective method of promoting our Club and growing our membership. I encourage you to continue to share us with your friends; tell them about the Women’s Canadian Club of Calgary and invite them to attend one of our three’ Guests Welcome’ luncheons – September, December, and June. It’s a great opportunity try us out.

We will extend a free 2027-2028 membership to the member who brings in the greatest number of new members in the 2026- 2027 season.  Feel free to share the extra brochure enclosed and copies can be found on the tables at every luncheon.
