2025 President’s Message

Dear Members, 

Hello!   I hope this finds you well and enjoying summer. 

As I look at my letter from this time last year, it all seems so very different. Just a few 30C+ days, no water shortages, plenty of rain that has left the entire city looking very lush and green. What a difference a year can make! 

 It’s my great pleasure to welcome you to our 2025 – 2026 Luncheon and Speaker Series of the Women’s Canadian Club of Calgary.   

The luncheon schedule has been coordinated, the menus, speakers, entertainment, arranged by our Board Members. They have been working on this over the summer, as well as designing the tickets and brochures and arranging printing and distribution.   And we’re ready to start our season!

The enclosed brochures detail our impressive selection of speakers and entertainment, and we hope you will find them informative and enjoyable. 

 We have found it necessary to implement an increase in our prices this season to keep up with our rising costs:  

  • Our annual membership fee is now $65.00

  • Luncheon tickets are now $62.00 

At the bar:

  • Wine/Sherry remains $12.00

  • Juice/ Soft Drinks are $10.00

I’d like to share a bit of background information to explain why increases are necessary.

The price of your luncheon ticket covers the luncheon, service charge and gst. When the Fairmont Palliser experiences cost increases, they increase the luncheon cost to us. 

All other expenses are covered by membership fees, including the cost of Speakers and Entertainment, Audio Visual equipment charges, printing, postage, insurance and website charges. 

As a non-profit organization, we increase prices only to allow us to recover our costs. 

September luncheon tickets must be purchased online, by mail or by e-transfer so please remember to order them by September 1st, 2025.  If you are purchasing by mail, cheques are to be mailed to:

Tickets purchased online, by mail or by e-transfer will be available for pickup in the Oval Room just prior to the luncheon.

***When using our new e-transfer option to order your luncheon tickets, please indicate the name or names of the members or guests included in your purchase and your contact number on the e-transfer.

Memberships can be purchased online, by e-transfer or by mail with the application form (back page of the brochure). Please send your cheque with the completed form to:

If you enclose a stamped self-addressed envelope, your membership card will be mailed to you. Otherwise, it can be picked up at the Membership Desk in the foyer prior to the September luncheon.

Experience tells us that word of mouth is our most effective method of promoting our Club and growing our membership. I encourage you to continue to share us with your friends; tell them about the Women’s Canadian Club of Calgary and invite them to attend one of our three Guests Welcome luncheons – September, December, and June. It’s a great opportunity try us out. 

We will extend a free 2026-2027 membership to the member who brings in the most new members in the 2025- 2026 season.  So please, feel free to share the extra brochure enclosed and copies can be found on the tables at every luncheon. 

My huge thanks to all of you for your continued support – you are appreciated more than words can say, and I look forward to seeing you September 10th as we launch another successful season!
